Prayer Times = A History in God
And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"
- Luke 18:7-8
Prayer Times
I really do cherish my times in the Prayer House, especially during these seasons of 24 hour prayer. There's something about these seasons of prayer that attracts the presence of God in a very tangible way. People get saved. There are physical and emotional healings. Long-time Christians encounter God in new and powerful ways.
Still, there are the prayer times where nothing is happening. Maybe it's 4am on a Friday morning and I'm all alone. The Prayer House is completely still. There's some light music playing in the background. I am alone with God. This is the place where I meet face to face with the most powerful and beautiful being in the universe. Although I can't see Him- I know and love Him.
Building a History in God
In Luke 18, Jesus poses the question, "...when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?" Perhaps this could be worded, "When Jesus comes back, who will know Him?" This is the reason why we do the Prayer House. When we spend time in prayer, we're not just sitting in a room, talking to walls. We're building a history in God. We're learning the mysteries of God's heart and we're developing our relationship with Him.
I'm often asked, concerning 24 hour prayer, "What's the point of all this?" The point is Jesus. The knowledge of Jesus and His great love for us is the reason for our season of prayer. Sure, we love all the testimonies of salvation, deliverance and healing. But our great reward is Jesus. He is the reason I go to the prayer house, all alone, for an 8am slot.
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.
- Proverbs 25:2
